I am interested in the preparation provided for American women, who entering a new culture, may encounter disrespect or violent behavior. What does the PC do if something like a rape, or assualt happens? Please respond. My daughter wants to sign up. I know she can encounter anything anywhere - but I would appreciate knowing how often, how bad and what she can do to prepare/

Thank you

It would be good for you to read the series on safety and security in the Peace Corps done by a Dayton Ohio newspaper. Then, look at the security measures taken by Peace Corps has a result. Women who have served subsequently to those measures would be the best current source for information.

The best wayI have found to access that report is to google: rape on this website. It is an unpleasant term, but it would get you to the right place to begin.
