Born in Denver and raised in Brighton, Raymond Gonzales grew up with an older sister, Julie Ann. After high school Gonzales attended Regis University and received a BS in accounting. After college he worked as a talent search counselor at the Educational Opportunity Center in Denver for a year. He later became the Regional Administrative Officer for the U.S. Peace Corps (Denver) from until 2000.

Born in Denver and raised in Brighton, Raymond Gonzales grew up with an older sister, Julie Ann. After high school Gonzales attended Regis University and received a BS in accounting. After college he worked as a talent search counselor at the Educational Opportunity Center in Denver for a year. He later became the Regional Administrative Officer for the U.S. Peace Corps (Denver) from until 2000.
For the next 7 years, Gonzales was the Regional Federal Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor/Employment Training Administration for Denver, Dallas and Washington, D.C. During the next year Gonzales served as the Deputy Cabinet Secretary of Labor under Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico. Gonzales was hired to his current position in September of 2008. Governor Bill Ritter also appointed Gonzales to the Colorado Workforce Development Council.
He serves on the boards of the Greater Brighton Chamber of Commerce, the Metro North Chamber of Commerce and is a supporter of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). Gonzales received the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) Secretary�s Exceptional Achievement Award in recognition of exemplary work in developing USDOL�s New Strategic Youth Vision for the delivery of services to the Workforce Investment Act�s out-of-school and in need youth populations. Married to Lisandra, the couple has two children, Alejandro, 11, and Noelle, 7. During their free time the Gonzales enjoy watching movies.
