Peace Corps Malawi '04 - Mefloquine almost caused me serious problems, but I left before it got bad enough to be dangerous. It took two months back in the US to remember who I was. Vivid dreams? That's a criminal understatement. Aggression, paranoia, insomnia? HA! I almost lost my mind completely. When I found myself at the door of my hut naked with machete in hand begging the "thieves" to attack me, I knew I was far gone. I called and had myself removed the next day.

In training, I brought up the mefloquine research I had been doing to the doc as he told us how and when to take it. I was laughed at and told they were just rumors. How many more people have to die at their own hand before this stops?

PC can say what they want, but I was hoping there was a class action suit. Maybe there will be.
