Position Opening: Visiting Pedagogy Consultant-Indonesia

Dates: Jan-May 2016 (2 – 6 months, negotiable)
Employment Level: Post-doc, special assignment-consulting

Program Summary:
The USAID Higher Education Leadership and Management (HELM) project aims to strengthen graduate-level programs in higher education leadership and management in Indonesia. The intended results are: (a) to increase understanding and application of effective university leadership, and decision-making approaches among university administrators, and (b) to establish for strengthen higher education leadership and management programs at four (4) Indonesian institutions of Education.
After a thorough selection process, the four Indonesian institutions selected were: Gadjah Mada University, Padang State University, Indonesian Education University, and Bogor Agricultural University. These universities have committed themselves to strengthening their graduate level programs through curriculum development, on-line delivery of courses, and support for research activity.
To this end, Indiana University, Ohio State University, and University of Illinois, have partnered under the Indiana Alliance (IA) to provide on-going consultation and support to meet HELM objectives. Recent activity includes faculty visits to the US to visit IA campuses, consultancy visits by US partners to HELM universities, and on-going collaborative curriculum development.
Job Description: The Visiting Pedagogy Specialist (referred to as “Specialist”) will be responsible for collaborating with identified counterparts at selected HELM universities. The Specialist must exhibit a deep commitment to the collaborative process, promoting respect for cultural differences. The ideal candidate will have experience in on-line course delivery and be willing to co-develop existing courses into an on-line format.

Requested Specialties (one or more of the following): Management of HE Human Resources Development; Learning Design; Quality Assurance; Academic Management: Education, Research, and Community Service/Diversity in HE; HE Governance and Policy Analysis; HE Leadership and Strategy; Politics and Economics of HE; Organizational Design and Development.
Required Qualifications: PhD in an area related to HE.

Desired qualifications: Previous experience in a developing country; experience developing and teaching on-line courses.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
