United States Ambassador to India -- Richard F. Celeste

Ambassador Richard F. Celeste presented his credentials to President of India Mr. K.R. Narayanan on November 28, 1997.

Ambassador Richard F. Celeste was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1937. After graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University in 1959, Ambassador Celeste attended Exeter University and Oxford University in England as a Rhodes Scholar.

After a short term as a Staff Liaison Officer in the Peace Corps, Ambassador Celeste worked for four years as Special Assistant to the American Ambassador to India in New Delhi. Following this, Ambassador Celeste returned to his native Ohio where he served as a State Representative for four years and Lt. Governor for a further four years.

Ambassador Celeste then went to Washington where he served as Director of the Peace Corps for two years before returning to Ohio to run for Governor. In 1982 Ambassador Celeste was elected Governor of Ohio.

Following two terms as Governor, from 1983 to 1991, Ambassador Celeste became a Managing Partner in the consulting firm, Celeste & Sabety, Ltd., located in Columbus, Ohio.

Ambassador Celeste is currently Chairman of the Government University Industry Research Roundtable, Chairman of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science Advisory Board, a member of the Secretary of Energy's Advisory Board, a council member of Appropriate Technology International, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Visiting Fellow in Public Policy at Case Western Reserve University.

Ambassador Celeste is married to Jacqueline Lundquist. The couple has one child.

We have a new developed technology related to use of hydrolic machines for heavy stone cutting machine. We want to give Practical demo. However we have no enough funds to continue my research. would we get help from your government ?
