celebration of the Peace Corps 40th Anniversary.

Streets, NW, Washington, DC, 1-800-424-8532. Make
your reservations soon because September is a busy
month in Washington.

The National Peace Corps Association also has official
hotels which are a step up in quality and price. (See
below.)

Saturday, September 22, 2001
• Panamá country update, including current Peace Corps Panama
Director, Janice Jorgensen - afternoon.
• Embassy of Panamá reception hosted by Ambassador Billy Ford -
evening
• PCPF dinner at Harrington Hotel, 11th & E Streets, NW - after
reception.

March to Arlington and closing ceremonies, followed by a picnic and
games.
"Black Tie" Gala planned at Kennedy Center as a tribute to the
Peace Corps first director Sargent Shriver. (NPCA hopes that Paul
Simon will headline performers with his music that spans the four
decades of Peace Corps.)
