NPCA AIDS ACTION ALERT

Please call your Congressman and US Senators now to ask their support for the $1.2 billion emergency supplemental appropriation, including $1 billion for the Global Fund and $200 million for USAID.

Ask Senators to sign on to Senator Leahy's Dear Colleague letter in the Senate (Leahy: 202-224-4242).

Ask Congressmen to sign on to the bipartisan Dear Colleague letter in the House, sponsored by Republicans Leach and Morella (call Mary Andrus at 202-225-6576), and Democrats Lee and Nadler (call Michael Riggs at 202-225-2661).

Say something like this:

"I know the Congress has been working hard in these difficult times and you have my best wishes. I'd like to bring to your attention a Dear Colleague letter to President Bush, now being circulated. It calls for a $1 Billion emergency supplemental appropriation for the Global HIV-AIDS and Health Fund. This is a very critical time in the fight against AIDS. Where does the Senator/Representative stand on the issue?"
