IV. OMB INCREASES PEACE CORPS BUDGET FOR FY 2003
President Bush has released his proposed budget for FY 2003 which includes an increase in funding for the Peace Corps from $275 M to $320 M for increasing the number of volunteers in the field by 1,200. Read the story at:

V. RPCV CHRIS MATTHEWS COMPARES BUSH TO JFK
Swaziland RPCV Chris Matthews, commentator for MSNBC, recently wrote an article comparing President George W. Bush to JFK saying Bush "is a classic New Frontiersman. If you doubt me, just run through the guy's policy blueprint - higher defense spending, tax cuts, a call to national service." VI. DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR THE NPCA'S PEACE CORPS 40TH PLUS 1
The NPCA has announced their schedule for the Peace Corps 40th plus one Conference from June 20 to 23 and selected the Omni Shoreham hotel for their center of activities. Over 1300 RPCVs are registered for the conference. Get details at:

VII. US PEACE CORPS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD COUNTRY DIRECTORS
Each year the Director of the Peace Corps appoints 25 new Country Directors to lead Peace Corps programs overseas.
