NPCA Chairman to consult for US Peace Corps
By arlotti on Wednesday, February 27, 2002 - 9:59 pm: Edit Post |
Dr. Pyle was our Country Director for the second half of our tour in Antigua, West Indies. As we finished our service, he offered us valuable advice during our transition back to the U.S. He has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of the Peace Corps experience, and we are fortunate to have him in this position, consulting for Special Services. He is the best man for the job!

I had the good fortune to be a PCV in the Eastern Caribbean at the same time Dick Pyle became Country Director. I served on Montserrat and Barbuda from 1990-93 as a teacher and disaster relief carpenter. Dick is a good man and I always felt he was forthright, honest and diligent. He is the kind of guy to give you his undivided attention in conversation. What more can one ask for qualifications in a person for any job? I'm sure Dick will be just fine. If you see this, Dick, congrats. Good to see your name in print again.

How wonderful to read these affirming messages. I have been a Dick Pyle fan since we met in 1964 and began our marriage as Peace Corps Volunteers in 1966. He is still an idealist and a man of great personal integrity who commits his energy and talents to making a positive contribution in the world. I am so proud of him!

We will miss having Dick in Austin but Washington will be blessed to have him. I have enjoyed knowing him in various RPCV capacities and will look forward to meeting him on trips to D.C. He is an excellent choice for the job ahead of him.

What a wonderful surprise to know that Dick Pyle has been offered the opportunity to continue his "love affair" with the Peace Corps. I was one of the lucky students who was able to participate with other college students in Dr. Pyle's "mini-Peace Corps" project in Jamaica. This opportunity opened up a whole new world for me and really was an experience that changed my life. Dr. Pyle continues to be an inspiraton for many of us!

I have known Dick Pyle since we were kids and am SO VERY PROUD of all he has accomplished in his life. I know his love and passion for the work of the Peace Corps and am thrilled that this opportunity has opened up for him. I know he will exceed all expectations and serve mankind well. Love to all your family.
