regarding peace corps in afghanistan--i think it would be a pity if peace corps became so braided with our present american policy that afghanis associated pc work w/ the pugilistic greedy brutal government that has laid them waste already. i think folks really concerned about the well-being of afghanis should look for a more neutral forum--join the brethern's work or afsc's work or almost any organization that hasn't already bombed, mined, destroyed, brutalized the population. i think no one should voluntarily associate him/herself with work that the present u.s. government does anywhere. bush has already revealed his true colors. has already advocated lying to promote a better image of americans overseas. so peace corps becomes an arm of that lie? come on! don't do it.
p.s.this seems like the least convenient format for reading the messages and articles and for sending an opinion. i will return to it only to check that it has been simplified. after that i won't unless it has become less convoluted.
