I just received a email from PCOL; subject line said "Directory Colombia..." But, the email appeared to be a sales promotion for some long distance phone service. I found it disconcerting to be asked to forward this to serving volunteers....Colombia, of course, hasn't had Peace Corps in over twenty years. What exactly is this? Thanks

"Peace Corps Online" did not post the sales promotions for long distance phone service, have no relationship with the parties that did, and have no financial interest in these offers one way or the other.

It's a fine line as to whether postings like these should be allowed on the board, but in a case like this, PCOL tends to err on the side of free speech and let the postings remain. If this kind of spam becomes too frequent and abusive, we'll re-assess that policy.

It is up to our readers to determine how they will respond to the offer and, of course, we assume no responsibiity for any problems you may have with the vendors. Caveat Emptor!
