The sixty volunteers who wanted to demonstrate against the US at the embassy, I'm sure, had not really thought the plan through. Did they realize that such behavior would be destructive to their own mission? Do they see themselves as US govt employees? I would guess that any state department employee who demonstrated in front the white house on that issue would be out of a job by sunset.
On the other hand, was that just an empty threat that headquarters staff send in their e-mail? To say "might be separated" is garbage. Even with their sneaky loop-hole message, headquarters should have sent the 3 home. What's going on?
