I just read (at the Peace Corps Website) that 70% of PCVs are signed up for WWS
and that pre-service volunteers are advised to sign up.

It is inappropriate and wrong to ask someone to do this.

This program is not and never has been required. If it is not required, then there should be NO pressure to sign up for it.

Peace Corps is not Unicef or reliant on the involvement of kids to do their job.

Alot of organizations rely on kids to justify their work. Peace Corps never needed this justification or WWS.

Hmmmmm??? World Wise Schools is a wonderful program and Trainees nor Volunteers are never coerced into signing up for the program. They are, however, presented the information in Staging and during PST. They decide if they wish to participate. Nobody is 'advised'..only informed.
