The Central American Solar Energy Project (CASEP) is offering the opportunity to coordinate its program in Guatemala. CASEP is a 501(c)(3) organization that works with women to promote the construction and use of solar cookers and other community based quality-of-life projects as a framework for developing women’s leadership in Central America.
Description
The woman selected for this responsibility will provide administrative support and guidance for four full-time office staff members and six part-time field staff, and oversee the daily operations of the program, which includes over 300 women in eighteen communities. The coordinator will work effectively with the General Coordinator, staff of CASEP in Charlottesville (VA) and with the other Central American coordinators who are part of the CASEP’s network. This position will be filled by a woman who is driven to use all of her abilities and creativity to help CASEP and its affiliate organization in Guatemala by researching and preparing grant proposals in order to fulfill the vision of greater women’s participation in the decision-making that affects all our lives.

Requirements

§ Proficiency in written and spoken Spanish
§ Strong management, administrative and financial skills
§ Bachelor’s degree international development or related field
§ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
§ Ability to work in cross-cultural settings
§ Administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Data Bases, and Quicken
§ Excellent interpersonal skills.
§ Must be able to lead and supervise staff, work with NGO partners, volunteers and donors and represent the organization to the public.
§ Ability to provide team leadership and ensure accountability and compliance from staff
§ Ability to drive and to take responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the program’s vehicles
§ Capacity to adapt to living conditions in a developing nation
§ Willingness to make a two-year commitment
