Hi Jamari,
I discovered about you today after a long, long lapse of time since the hey days in Tanjung Kling in 1974 when I met with you and your housemate,ex-PCV, Alice Spirakis, the librarian at Melaka Education Office. I surfed the internet today and discovered about you. It all started through Dr. Mike Nahan who is an Executive Director of IPA, Melbourne and his news appeared in the Malaysian newspaper, THE STAR dated 3rd February 2003 about IPA issues and it's great to know old friends (RPCVs) doing very well in their new line of work as you are now in the foreign service just like Mike Nahan and Professor of Agronomy, Roger W Elmore. It's great to travel the world isn'it whilst still attach to the government. You must have had extensive experience by now and it certainly widen your horizon with first hand knowledge of different people and their culture.
Does it ring a bell ? Can you still remember me?
Well, it's me Normah Abu Kassim of Jasin, Melaka.
Just writing to say hello and wish you all the very best for 2003 and all the years to come( SELAMAT TAHUN BARU dan SELAMAT MAJU JAYA)A bit of Bahasa Melayu or Malay for you.
I am now running a home based NIET PROGRAMME ( Normah's Interactive English Teaching) and it is meant for the disadvantaged students who have lost the golden opportunity to learn English efficiently and effectively whilst in school.
My mom remembers you and Alice very well. My dad died in 1980 and me and my mom are living here in our family home in the kampong. If you do come over to work or for holidays, please do not hesitate to come and visit us.
Well, so long and bye for now> All the very best to you and your family wherever you are.

WASSALAM
Fond thoughts and MUch Love from Melaka, Malaysia
