Help Make Special Projects A Reality....
I am currently serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal. I have recently located a few forms which tell a little about your project. I have considered beginning to supplement my village school’s meager resources. I look forward to your correspondence and thank you for your work in advance.

My name is Jaclyn Kordell and I am a Peace Corps volunteer serving in the town Hatillos (province of Hato Mayor) Dominican Republic. I work with students and teachers of three small elementary schools.
Both as a child and now as an adult I have always enjoyed reading both in the classroom and as a pastime. Because of this, one of my goals as a Peace Corps volunteer is to introduce school age children to the excitement and pleasure of reading and to provide teachers with a new tool for motivating classroom attendance, participation and interest.
Unfortunately, the schools I work with do not have the resources to provide teachers or students with reading materials. On behalf of the teachers and the students, and after seeing your advertisement for sending books to needy children in the March, 2000 issue of "National Geographic", I am writing to ask if you would consider donating children's picture books preferably in Spanish but English books would be just as welcomed. I would gladly send you pictures of students reading the books..
If you are able to help, please contact me through Peace Corps. I also have periodic access to email at jkordell@hotmail.com.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Jaclyn Kordell
