I was turning out some old photographs and thinking of some names. I served as a VSO teacher in Segbwema from 1973-4 at Wesley Secondary School. With us were Peace Corps and CUSO's. Names coming to mind are Kerry and Gloria Kruppstadt, Dan ????, Winston ???? Prudence. As for us English, I taught with Dave Stevens & Howard Jones. Jenny Greenfield lived at Wesley but taught at Holy Ghost. There was a guy called Neil there too who went on to Sudan. At the hospital were Dr. Pam Maguire and a pharmacist called Wendy ???? who I think married Winston above.
I can highly recommend Amniatta Forna's book, "The Devil the Danced on the Water". Sad but true - what we didn't know was happening. Best wishes to all,

Hello,
My name is Draman Samu. I am a Canadian, formerly from Sierra Leone. I am desperately eager to reconnect with my former Peace Corps Volunteers teachers I have lost contact with since I graduated from high school in 1973. I am particularly looking for any info about Peace Corps teachers who taught at the Wesley Secondary, or Holy Ghost Secondary School in Segbwema. Names like Allan Dale, Norman Gleadow, Ken Rosen, Richard Coon, Mark Dale, Robert Baker, Steve Lord, etc. If you have any means of helping me contact any of these people (such as posting this message on your bulletin board ), I will gladly appreciate it.
Thank you.

My name is Sahr Max Lebbie. I attended the Koidu Secondary School from 1966 to 1971. I used to be commonly called Max Lebbie. I wish to acknowledge the emmense dedication and sacrifice the peace corps volunteers who taught in that school made. Notwithstanding the mosquito bites, poor sanitation and poor working conditions, they endured and gave us their best. I wish, on behalf of all the past students of Koidu Secondary School, Kono District, to express our profound thanks and appreciation to those gallant "soldiers", their parents, the President who initiated the program and the American people.
I will appreciate it very much if any of the Peace Corps Volunteers who taught in the school and who do remember me contact me by; EMAIL: maxlebbie@yahoo.co.uk.
Phone; 571-237-4441.
God bless you all.
Sahr Max Lebbie, Alexandria, Virginia, USA

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Al Brown,Lean and Diana who were peace corps volunteers in SIERRA LEONE in Freetown between 1974 and 1977.

Hello,
My name is Karen and I am looking for Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who served in eastern Sierra Leone (in or around Koidu-Sefadu) from 1991-1997, or for people who know about this area. Any leads to others who may have knowledge would be GREATLY appreciated.
I urgently need to contact someone from this era who could give me more information about a refugee camp outside of Sefadu/outside of the border of the Kono district. There were no international agencies in the camp nor was there any security. Ring any bells? I don't know the name of the camp, unfortunately.
Please, if you have any leads, respond as soon as you can.
Thank you!!!
