Amie Mignatti went to Lesotho with the Peace Corps, as a Teacher/Trainer for pre-school children. Chris Weber went for a visit.

CW: How long have you been in Africa? Which parts and why?

AM: Over 2 years...out of Peace Corps for 5 months but I didn't serve the full 2 years due to the political instability in Lesotho. Traveled all over the Republic of South Africa, Lesotho, Ghana, Swaziland and Mozambique. Now I live in the Republic of South Africain a setting similar to Lesotho but it is more like a village full of friends (Artists, Musicians, and Gardeners)

CW: Have you learned the language? Which ones? Do they involve clicks? How do you say Kittenpants?

AM: I learned Lesotho only.

CW: Does it involve clicks?

AM: Only one click (on the Q), but I snap instead, I can't quite click yet).

CW: How do you say Kittenpants?

AM: Kittenpants is meno ea katzi ea nyane.

CW: Is Lesotho a good place to have a pet?

AM: NO! They kick their dogs and they steal cats and kittens to make hats. My kitty was stolen when I went away and I noticed a man with a new hat with sinilar markings to my Katzi. He just said "Oh sorry sorry" when confronted.

CW: Do you have an African Name?

AM: Naleli (Nalady) the star

CW: Who are the Bo-Me?

AM: Bo-Me literally means a group of women. They are the best part of Africa...Always yelling loud, lovotting and smiling and talking. The most friendly person in the world I am convinced. They are very Venus of Willendorf looking, with hips that you could literally set glasses on and sometimes the breasts and they would stay too. They usuallysit down with their back to whomever talking, head cocked to the side and legs stretched straight out in front, they clap and make sounds depending on if they are pleased or displeased. they wear mismatched clothing and always have a bath towel wrapped around their waist, they wear multi-colored head scarves as well.

CW: Which description of the Peace Corps. best applies?

* The Peace Corps. is like being in the army with no war? or

* B The Peace Corps. is like College with no Classes?

AM: Neither and both, these were ? girls comments and they had very different experiences than me, I'd say it is ultimate freedom in an unknown land.
