Photo Collection Project
The Friends of Cameroon recently received a request from the Peace Corps Director in Yaounde that I would like to share with you and encourage your participation:
"Given PC/Cam's long history I'm disappointed not to find historical pictures of the program in the office. What I'm wondering is whether through the FoC network we couldn't assemble a pictorial timeline of PC activities here. You know, photos of the staff with each director, photos of each new training group, that kind of thing. Any chance you could put out an APB for these historic gems? I think it'd be great for Staff and Volunteers to see they are part of a long tradition.
Robert Strauss, PC Country Director/Cameroon"
If you can help with this project, please send pictures to the FOC address at 13201 Stravinsky Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20904. We will forward all submissions to Peace Corps in Cameroon. Please include any information that you might have about the pictures, including year and names of any persons in the pictures. Remember that you will be sending the pictures for a permanent collection in Yaounde, so make sure you keep a copy for yourself. On behalf of FOC and PC/Cameroon, thanks for your assistance.
President, Friends of Cameroon
Thank You for your Response!
Recently FOC asked for volunteers to help in FOC related activities. This was done via email and through the January 2002 newsletter. We have received a good number of replies in many areas including web site development, database maintenance, newsletter assistance, annual directory assistance, and more general volunteer efforts. We thank you for the large response.
We Will Contact You
The current FOC volunteers are organizing the responses into categories and have set priorities for contacting these volunteers. Our first priority was the FOC web site and as you can see, we are making progress in this area. The second priority will be for newsletter volunteers, followed by database volunteers then other general assistance.
Please be patient. We have not forgotten your responses. If you sent us a request to volunteer, we hope to contact you in the near future. Thanks!
Updates will Soon Follow
You can obtain more information about FOC volunteer efforts here. This information will be updated in the near future with more details so check back frequently. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
