Ted Vestal, professor of Political Science, attended the Peace Corps’ 41st anniversary in Washington D.C. Prior to the June Peace Corps celebration, he had been in Ethiopia giving a paper at an academic meeting. His recent activities have included the National Peace Corps’ Association 2002 Conference, the Ethiopian American History and Culture Symposium, and a presentation of his paper, “Globalization and Human Rights: The Bush Administration’s Policy Toward the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.” Additionally, he attended a workshop titled “The Implications of Development Research.”

During his travels, he was able to compile significant information for the book he is writing about the travels of Emperor Haile Selassie to North America.
