Peace Corps Programs in Kiribati

The Republic of Kiribati is one of the smallest countries in the world. It is composed of thirty-three atolls scattered over more than two million square miles of water, yet it's total land area is only 264 square miles. Kiribati (pronounced Kiri-bahs) is located in the Central Pacific, near the point at which the international dateline intersects the equator. The islands are in four main groups: the Gilberts, Phoenix, Northern and Southern Line Islands, and Ocean Island. The capital is Bairiki, situated on the main island of Tarawa.
