Peace Corps Alumni Foundation for Philippine Development

Peace Corps Alumni Foundation for Philippine Development

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, staff, and friends created the Peace Corps Alumni Foundation for Philippine Development in 1983 as a way to continue their commitment to the social and economic development of the Philippines.

The Foundation provides scholarships for Filipino students who need financial assistance to realize their dreams of attending college in the Philippines. Over the years more than 70 students have received academic scholarships and have completed their studies in fields ranging from engineering and architecture to midwifery and community development.

PCAFPD is an affiliate of the National Peace Corps Association and is recognized as the official returned Volunteer group of the Philippines. In 1999, PCAFPD was awarded the Loret Miller Ruppe Award for Outstanding Community Service. The Foundation is a registered 501C(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible.

PCAFPD is a registered, non-profit foundation, not a membership organization like many other RPCV groups. PCAFPD is recognized by the National Peace Corps Association as the official group representing volunteers from the Philippines. In addition to our award winning scholarship program, the Foundation provides a way for RPCVs and friends to stay in touch with each other and the Philippines. Friends and supporters are always welcome to attend board meetings, help plan events, join in activities, and continue our commitment to the Philippines.

Hello. Does your organization provide scholarship for medical students? (I'm an incoming 3rd year med student.) If yes, where can I get an application form? Thank you very much.

07 October 2004

Good day to everybody,

First of all is to thank you again for all the help the foundation has given me during my college years. I am Alexander C.Gabilo graduated civil engineer in 1994 and since then I have lost contact with the foundation. My first work after graduation was in an electronics factory in taguig, mtr.mla. as a plant engineer and in 1997 transferred to a construction project management company where I was assigned in the construction of GTTower International as a Construction Project Engineer (field inspector). I am now currently working here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a Consultant and would like to share my knowledge to those fellow scholars.

To those who want any information regarding “APPLIED ENGINEERING (site conditions)” you can reach me thru my e-mail address: kwais68@yahoo.com

Thank you very much and more power,

Alexander C. Gabilo
