THE KYRGYZ CONNECTION: RSVP IN CENTRAL ASIA
Orphans in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, can look forward to a better winter thanks to the combined efforts of Jean Joley, RSVP Director in Ft. Wayne, IN, her Peace Corps Volunteer daughter Katie, who serves in Bishkek, Hillary Clinton, who will be visiting Kyrgyzstan in mid-November, and an ever growing number of RSVP volunteers, Peace Corps parents and businesses. Goods, including teddy bears, hats, mittens and scarves made by RSVP volunteers, children's coats donated by Lands End, and a trailer load of gifts from Peace Corps parents in Wisconsin will brought to Ft. Wayne where RSVP and AmeriCorps members will arrange their shipping to Washington for loading on Air Force One, to be delivered by Hillary Clinton to Peace Corps Volunteers in Kyrgyzstan for distribution.
