All resources formerly found here pertaining to Latvia, have been moved to SVEIKS.com. Please update your links and bookmarks to http://www.sveiks.com.

While this website is being integrated into SVEIKS.com you may need files you found here formerly. Please feel free to email me, requesting these.

Farewell

A few words about the short 4 year, three month history of this website is due. It was the third one on the Internet pertaining to Latvia and was the first one, to the best of my knowledge, outside of Latvia. Placed online in September of 1994 it started as merely a link to the few websites that existed. Shortly resources such as image files like maps, and the castles of Latvia or of Riga were added and became very popular. Some daily download averages would total over 40Mb per day of 300k files; over 2000 hits per day (for just specific webpages and files) became an average over a year ago. All of this was done for free to promote Latvia and its new independence.

In order to keep these files and resources available to the public in the best (and eye-pleasing) manner, these have been integrated into the former "Latvians in America" website. The goal remains and is to supply quality online materials refering to Latvia, its people, the rich culture, and lovely nature.

Thank you

I would like to thank all who helped this website grow in the past. Help has especially come from Gita Gemuts, Amara Graps, Sams Knochs, Katrina Sataki, Eriks Sneiders, Ilya Ketris, and Ints Tumilovics. To all of you I extend my sincere thanks and hope you will enjoy its new incarnation as SVEIKS.com
