Ron Stitt read this message in 2007 and we connected. Sad to add that Michael Griffin who was stationed with me in Shahi for a year and with Stitt in Boujnerd till our tour was up passed away several years ago.
Mike was from Detroit, MI; had attended John Carroll graduating in 1964 whereupon he joined the Peace Corps. We trained at the University of Michigan and were assigned Iran as TEFL III.
After Iran, Mike was a trainer with the Peace Corps and was at the University of Texas when that sniper attacked and killed several students from the tower on campus.
In Greek we say, "zoe seh sas" when someone dies and I say that now to Mike's family and friends. It means Long life to you!
