Ivory Coast RPCV Angus Armstrong McLees dies in Atlanta
Angus Armstrong McLees
Angus Armstrong McLees, 33, of Atlanta, Ga., departed this life Tuesday, October 7, 2003. Angus was a graduate of Open High School in Richmond, received his B.A. in philosophy and French from Guilford College, and his M.A. in religious studies from the University of Virginia. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, for two years.
Angus made his love for humanity, nature, and philosophy an integral part of his work as an arborist, historical gardener, djembe musician, and teacher. He touched many lives through his kindness, strength, and inner peace. He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Willner McLees; and his daughter, Adele Knut McLees of Atlanta; and by his devoted parents, John and Ainslie McLees; and his sister, Heather Armstrong McLees of Richmond.
A memorial service will be held in Richmond on Saturday, November 22 at 2 p.m. at Grace & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 8 N. Laurel St. (804) 359-5628.
