Our daughter, Beth Brady, is undergoing her orientation in Butwal and will be assigned to Lete to work on Riparian projects there.
I've been viewing the Katmandu Press almost daily and sense that Nepal is in the same type of turmoil that Vietnam was when the government of the U.S. and their allies in South Vietnam were constantly berating the Communist Viet Cong while praising the progress of their own government in coopration with the U.S.
Does anyone have any onsight insights about what's happening in Nepal that they'd like to share. Is there a possibility of a Tibet like takeover by the Maoist insurgents anytime soon?
Will the government of Nepal be able to overcome the assault by these Maoist guerillas?
What is the extent of support the Maoists enjoy from the Nepalese?
Thank you
