Dr. Don David Cobb
Dr. Don David Cobb is a United Methodist missionary serving as an agricultural advisor in Meru, Kenya.

"I work with the coordinator for Urban and Rural Development of the Methodist Church in Kenya and with local committees, assisting them in finding better ways to feed their families and gain income through farming," says Dr. Cobb.

He is the first United Methodist agriculturalist missionary to be assigned to Kenya. He worked with the Methodist Church of Kenya starting new agricultural projects in several locations in Uganda and Tanzania as well as Kenya.

Prior to this assignment, Dr. Cobb served as principal of Hango Agricultural College in the South Pacific, on the Island of Eau, Tonga. He was responsible for the operation of the college and its 400 acre farm.

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Cobb graduated from Oklahoma State University in Shawnee, with a B.A. degree in philosophy, and from Golden Gate Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, California, with a master of divinity. He earned a master of science degree in agriculture, and a doctorate from Arizona State University in geography and agriculture (with research conducted in Sarawak on Borneo).

Dr. Cobb first served on the Tonga Islands in 1968-1969. He was a Peace Corps volunteer, working with an agricultural extension program. He served in Gbasontown, Liberia for three years in a village extension program and as the agricultural coordinator in Kapit, Sarawak, Malaysia from 1975 to 1984.

He and his wife, Minioneti, are the parents of two daughters: Daphne and Ardell.
