GETTING THERE AND AWAY: time: 3-10 transportation: bush taxis, rides with priests and tobacco men How to reach the village from Yaounde: Just east to Batouri and then north. Stop before you get to CAR. Make sure the bridge is passable. close: Batouri

CONTACTS: Most of the big-wigs try to leave as soon as they can. There was an American building a tobacco warehouse, but he left.

HEALTH FACILITIES: Hospital with a doctor. There was no running water.

FESTIVALS: My post-mate marched in the parade for national teacher day. Another celebration was when the tobacco farmers got paid. National holidays were big fêtes.

POPULATION: 200-800

CLIMATE AND LANDSCAPE: very nice , wooded savanna
