Burkina Faso RPCV John Paul Owens will coordinate new Master's International Program
A&T's got a pretty cool new thing coming the fall: The Peace Corps' Master's International Program.
Graduate students accepted to both A&T's School of Agriculture and the Peace Corps will do their course work at A&T in either agriculture economics or agriculture education, then do two years of field work as Peace Corps volunteers.
Henry McKoy, the Peace Corps' regional director for Africa, was in town Wednesday for the announcement. McKoy, a former N.C. senator, got his political science bachelor's and history education master's at A&T.
A&T is one of about 50 U.S. colleges and universities to offer the Master's International program. John Paul Owens, an adjunct instructor in A&T's agriculture school, will coordinate the program. He's a former Peace Corps volunteer who served four years in the African nation of Burkina Faso.
