ABOUT MIKE: Mike has been back to Cameroon several times since he COSed, and works with John Granville to run Bamiléké Import, a company that works with Cameroonian artists to export and market art crafted in Western Cameroon.

TRANSPORTATION: Taxi and bush taxi are the primary forms of transportation to and in the village.

TRANSPORTATION: The village is 3 hours from the nearest city, and the ride costs about 1500 cfa. To reach the village from Yaounde, take a taxi to Douala (3000 cfa?) and then a taxi to Kumba (1500 cfa).

CLOSEST VILLAGES: Limbe, Konye, Tombel and Nguti

LODGING OPTIONS: Ayaba Hotel, Hotel Mondial

LODGING OPTIONS: Azi Motel

HEALTH: Presbyterian Clinic with European Doctors (Buea Road). There iss running water in the village.

CONTACTS IN VILLAGE: Anthony, who owns the liquor store opposite entrance to main market, is a reliable contact.

RELIGIONS: Predominantly Catholic and Presbyterian, some Luthern

CLIMATE: Hot and humid, Hilly, but not like the Northwest

ELECTRICITY: Yes, but it went out every rain storm - sometimes for days, other times only for hours.

CUISINE: Achu, roasted fish, corn chaff, beans and puff puffs, koki

SCHOOLS: GTHS Kumba, GHS Kumba, CAAS Kumba
