Timothy Finan
Tim Finan is Director of the Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology at the University of Arizona. His research interests include livelihood systems analysis, vulnerability, climate/societal interactions, natural resources management and public policy. He has conducted long-term research and training activities in Brazil, Cape Verde, and Portugal and has worked extensively in West Africa, Portuguese-speaking Africa, Latin America, and Europe. Most recently he has studied liveilhood systems in Bangladesh. Tim holds a Ph.D. in Culutural Anthropology from the University of Arizona and a B.A. in Literature from the University of Detroit. He was born in Bad Axe, Michigan and served four years in the Peace Corps in Northeast Brazil.
