Tunisia RPCV Phyllis "Elaine" Mayne dies in Colorado
MAYNE, PHYLLIS "ELAINE"-
Born 2/2/45, passed away 4/8/04 in the comfort of her home after a short yet courageous battle with brain cancer. Elaine touched the lives of everyone she met with her wit, her intelligence, her unique personality and her desire for knowledge. She loved her cats, hiking and bird watching. After graduating college in Oklahoma, she volunteered for the Peace Corps in Tunisia, which started a life of extensive travel and curiosity for other cultures. She was a teacher, master gardener and cabinetmaker. She was fluent in French and enjoyed good food, good wine and good friends.
Her thoughtful consideration of the meaning of life, and exemplary mode of living, were an inspiration. A gentle soul, she was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. - Memorial service in Pueblo: Contact DeDe at 719-545-1700. Donations to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 1207 Pueblo Blvd. Way, Pueblo, CO 81005.
