Albert Pagano, 71, of Vineland died Monday in South Jersey Hospital-Newcomb.

Born in Newfield, Mr. Pagano was a lifelong resident of Vineland. Albert was co-owner of Pagano Construction Co. in Vineland for many years. He was a 1949 graduate of Vineland High School. He was an alumni of St. John's College in Annapolis, Md., and the Great Books Program, class of 1960. He volunteered and served in the Peace Corps from 1960 to 1962 in Lima, Peru. He was a Navy Seabees from 1951 to 1955. He was a wine maker and had experimented with grape vineyards, growing French hybrid grapes from 1966 to 1975. He enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union and Allied Craftworker Local No. 5 in Bordentown for 52 years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post No. 4 in Vineland for 41 years.

He is survived by his lifelong friends, Nicola Caruso of Bridgeton and Peter Rosario of Vineland; four cousins, Dr. LeRoy Pagano of Staten Island, N.Y., Morel Pagano of Newfield, Dr. Jules Pagano of Rehobeth Beach, Del., and Julie Silvidio of Vineland; one nephew, Grover Pagano of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; and one niece, Elizabeth Gruber of Red Hook, N.Y.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 741 E. Walnut Road, Vineland. Visiting hours will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the American Legion Post No. 4, 28 S. West Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rone Funeral Service, Vineland.
