Dear Jason,
I am a concerned scientist and an educator. I have had the privilege of visiting the Republic of Armenia and still have relatives living there.
As Armenia is struggling to gain economic independence and encouraging business investments from foreign investors, I am concerned that it will be at "the risk" and "deterioration" of the natural environment.
Lake Sevan is already polluted, and there are many other environmental issues in Armenia that are not taking priority.
Being of Armenian ethnic origin myself, I am very much aware of how Armenians in general, think.
I would like very much to participate in someway in "changing attitudes" towards conservation of the terrestrial and aquatic environments in Armenia. Perhaps conducting environmental education programs/workshops for the public, or teaching environmental science at the University level. I do speak, read and write Armenian fluently which I am sure would help.
I was hoping you can advise me on the matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Concerned,
Dr. T.
