New Prague High School will induct three into its Hall of Fame during the coming weeks.

In 1990, he joined CHF International, a humanitarian organization with close ties to the Peace Corps. He served in several leadership positions. In 2003, CHF created its "Sargent Shriver Award" to honor individuals who best embody the ideals of the Peace Corps. Chromy was selected as the first recipient, with Shriver presenting the award.
