Willie Hillian, formerly of Norfolk, died April 12, 2004 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Willie was the son of the late Albert and Essie Mae Hillian formerly of Norfolk. He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol Hillian, his brother, Albert Hillian Jr. and his sister-in- law, Antionette Hillian.

Willie graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and Norfolk State University in Norfolk. After graduating from college, Willie joined the Peace Corps and served in Guyana, South America for two years. Willie was employed as a teacher in the Brooklyn City school system until his retirement after 30 years of service.

Cherishing his memory is his wife, Regina Hillian of Brooklyn and his daughter, Michelle Bush of Miami, Fla.; two sisters, Mildred Green of Norfolk and Sarah Timm (David) of Chester, Pa.; six brothers, the Rev. James Hillian (Mary) of Washington, D.C., Jeremiah Hillian (Mary) of Bowie, Md., Arnold Hillian of Brooklyn, Lawrence Hillian (Effie) of Upper Marlboro, Md., Richard Hillian (Sarah) of Virginia Beach and Leonard Hillian (Phyllis) of Norfolk. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn the loss of Willie.

The funeral will be held today in Brooklyn, N.Y. Local information was provided by Riddick Funeral Service.
