Forty-one new volunteers from the U.S. Peace Corps have arrived in Moldova.
For the first 9 weeks of their 2-year-long mission, they will be learning the Romanian language, living in 6 villages in the Hincesti raion. After that, 26 will begin teaching English, and 15 - healthy lifestyle lessons in Moldovan rural schools.
The Peace Corps has been present in Moldova since 1993. Currently, its 108 volunteers are participating in four PC projects in the areas of economic and organizational development, agriculture and related businesses, teaching of English, and healthy lifestyle.
