Ryan Richard Neal of Haddon Heights has accepted a Peace Corps assignment to work as a municipal developer volunteer in El Salvador, where he is now in training.

Neal is a 2004 graduate of Loyola College of Baltimore. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in business administration in international business and Asian studies. He is the son of Joseph and Janice Neal of Haddon Heights.

Before the Peace Corps Neal taught English for six months to sixth-graders at a school in Bangkok, Thailand while on a work-study program.

In El Salvador he will work on a municipal development project in a local government agency.

Neal has joined more than 171,000 Americans who have served in more than 136 countries since Pres. John F. Kennedy signed the executive order creating the Peace Corps in 1961. Recently Pres. Bush proposed to double the size of the Peace Corps and has underscored 5the importance of volunteerism by challenging all Americans to serve at least two years throughout their lifetimes in community service or overseas.
