WAPA awards 2004 scholarships to EWU students

By Troy Kirby
June 23, 2004

The Washington Chapter, American Planning Association, has awarded its 2004 scholarships at the only two schools in the state with accredited planning programs, Eastern Washington University and the University of Washington. Recipients of the scholarship, who receive $2500 each, are Latisha Hill, Eastern Washington University, and Michael Hintze, University of Washington.

Michael Hintze is a first year graduate student in the Masters Program at the University of Washington Department of Planning and Urban Design. A native of Brookfield, Wisconsin, he was awarded a BS in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of Georgia. He became a volunteer in the Peace Corps, assigned to Poland, where he found his interest in sustainable design and planning was further enhanced. Returning to Georgia, he worked with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the entity responsible for overseeing planning in the state. In his second year of the UW program he looks forward to the challenges and breakthroughs in the learning process.

For more than a decade the Washington Chapter of the American Planning Association has granted scholarships based on a combination of academic achievements, commitments to the profession, and financial need.

Hi,

I'm looking for Michael Hintze. We used to be really good friends while he stayed in Poland, but unfortunatelly we lost touch after he returned to USA. I was often thinking how to contact him again (his last address I have had was only a temporary one), and now when I'm going for a visit to USA I would like to see him if possible. My email address is agnies*gmx*de. Will appreciate any help at all.

Thanks in advance,
Agnieszka Domanska
