BIG HOLE FOUNDATION HIRES DIRECTOR: Jeff Schahczenski has been hired as the new executive director of the Big Hole River Foundation.
Schahczenski has a life commitment to serving rural people in their efforts to build sustainable communities, including many years working with a diverse population in Belize as a Peace Corps volunteer.
He serves on the Montana State Technical Advisory Committee of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, where he has worked with other rural leaders on addressing federal and state conservation program and policy issues that affect Montana waters. His understanding of the new Farm Bill programs will benefit the foundation's work with agricultural producers in the basin.
Schahczenski is executive director for Western Sustainable Agricultural Working Group and is an adjunct instructor of intercultural communications at Montana Tech. He has extensive nonprofit experience and fundraising skills.
