Crocodile pond to be constructed at Half Assini
Half Assini (W/R) July 10 - GNA - A crocodile pond with the capacity for 75 crocodiles is to be constructed at Half Assini in the Jomoro district.

Mr Greg Kaku Ruggiero, an American Peace Corps attached to the Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission, announced this when addressing the second ordinary meeting of the second session of the Jomoro District Assembly at Half Assini.

He said the construction of the pond was in support of the district's eco-tourism drive, aimed at raising awareness about wildlife conservation.

Mr Ruggiero said 40 young crocodiles were already at Half Assini, while 25 more were expected from New Town, a community in the district. He said ten crocodiles were also expected as donation from the Volta Region.
