Though he’s only lived in Laurel for a little more than a year, Alexander Hirtle has found a new job as a constituent aide for Prince George’s County Councilman Thomas Dernoga (D-Dist.1).

Hirtle, a longtime Sierra Club member, has led the organization's Anne Arundel County branch in the past and continues to be a Prince George’s County chapter representative.

He has experience lobbying for environmental issues in Annapolis and has three years experience in the Peace Corps in the West African country of Cape Verde.

Aside from his capacity as constituent aide, Hirtle also sits on the city of Laurel’s Environmental Committee, and is working to establish city air quality guidelines.
