My name is Michael Bernstein and I'm an American who is currently doing a short-term assignment with USAID in TAnzania focused on child health services.
I'm staying in fancy places in Dar and ARusha but I want to get a more "real" feel for the country and what village life is like here. Does anybody have any recommendations of places or people to visit? Even contact informatoin of ppl to get a hold of or peace corps members who are in the country now would be great. Just looking for suggestions...I"ll be here for at least 2 more weeks.
My email is firstname.lastname@example.org

My name is Luke Davenport and I'm looking for a very similar thing to what Michael Bernstein was looking for back in July 2004...maybe he wasn't successful...it's worth a shot.
I'm a just-COSed Kenya PCV looking to travel around East Africa for a couple months before going home. I'm particularly interested in spending some time in TZ, particularly I'd like to get off the beaten track a bit. Ideally I would love to stay with a volunteer or two for a day or two.
I can't offer the same in return since I've moved out of my site, but can certainly give some good advice on traveling in Kenya.
Wishing you all the best,
Luke Davenport, Kenya 2003-2005

I'm trying to locate a volunteer who served in the seventies named Ed Bank or Banky I'm not sure, he served on the first committee to petition PC/DC to have rpcvs from tz to be tested for hiv. I'm not sure if he contacted the virus himself. thanks.
