RE-ELECT JUDGE PAUL CZAJKA

After nearly 10 years serving the residents of Columbia County as Judge of the County, Family and Surrogate Courts, Judge Paul Czajka is running for re-election. Judge Paul Czajka has dedicated his entire professional career to the service of the people of Columbia County. In 1987 and again in 1991, Columbia County voters elected Paul Czajka to serve as their District Attorney. He represented the poor of the county as Public Defender from 1986 to 1987. Prior to that, Paul Czajka served as Columbia County Assistant District Attorney. As an active member of the community, Paul Czajka served as attorney for both the Germantown and Livingston fire districts, attorney for the Town of Germantown and attorney pro bono for the Southern Columbia Ambulance Squad.

Presiding in County Court, the court in which all serious crimes are tried, Judge Czajka brings a unique perspective to the job. Having prosecuted thousands of cases as District Attorney, he has also defended many hundreds accused of crimes.

Now, after almost a decade on the bench, having presided over serious criminal trials in County Court, many thousands of petitions in Family Court, and having been asked to preside over trials in all seven counties of our judicial district, he continues to bring a wealth of experience to the job. A Columbia County native, Judge Czajka grew up on and later ran the family dairy farm in Livingston. He is a graduate of Germantown Central School, The State University of New York at Albany and Western New England School of Law.

During his farming years, Judge Czajka served as chairperson, vice chairperson and a member of the USDA Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee for Columbia County. Prior to that, Judge Czajka served in the United States Peace Corps in the Philippines, where he supervised agricultural loans for small farmers.

Judge Czajka and his wife, Ellen, and children Chris, Nick and Tim reside in Columbia County. Reelect Judge Czajka. For more information about Judge Czajka, visit his website at: www.judgeczajka.com
