Hartnell College Hires 20 New Faculty Members and Counselors

August 23rd, 2004

Twenty new faculty members and counselors have joined the Hartnell College staff this fall. Classes began Monday (August 16).


Commenting on the new employees, Hartnell President Edward J. Valeau said they are "extremely accomplished individuals with impressive credentials and a vast amount of valuable experience that will provide our students with an enriching educational experience."

James Beck, English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor, has worked as a Peace Corps instructor in China and a part-time ESL instructor at San Jose State and Foothill Community College in Los Altos Hills. He received his B.A. degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and his M.A. from San Jose State. Beck also holds a minor in Spanish from the University of Granada, Spain.
