Dear Friends,

Now that the March elections are over, I want to update you on my campaign for Marin Superior Court Judge and to ask for your support and your vote on November 2, 2004.

As you may know, eight attorneys ran for a rare open judicial seat. I was honored to have received the most votes, and am now in a run-off election this fall.

Most of the time, judges are appointed by the Governor and it often takes political clout and big campaign donations to get appointed. Lawyers like myself, who come from small law firms and who have spent much of their careers working on issues of concern to our community, are hardly ever appointed.

But this time, you the voter get to choose.

Why should I be your choice for Marin County Superior Court Judge?

I have the experience:

· 18 years as a community-based lawyer and small business owner with clients from all cultures and economic backgrounds

· Litigated hundreds of cases and settled hundreds more

· Legal Director of Legal Self-Help of Marin, increasing access for citizens to our legal system

I am trusted by my colleagues and our courts to handle some of the toughest jobs:

· Serving our county as a pre-trial settlement panelist, saving taxpayers the cost of trials

· Serving as a Judge Pro Tem, hearing evidence and making decisions

· Appointed to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission, finding alternatives for first time youthful offenders

· Provided legal training on domestic violence for police and community service agencies

I have earned the community’s respect for exemplifying the highest levels of ethics and personal integrity:

· Selected “Lawyer of the Year” by the Marin County Bar Association

· Recipient of Marin Commission on Human Rights’ “Martin Luther King, Jr. Award”

· Inducted into “Marin Women’s Hall of Fame” in 2000

· Served as Chair of Marin Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees

I look forward to meeting many of you between now and the November election.

Your support would be greatly appreciated,

Schwarzenegger praises PC at Convention Schwarzenegger praises PC at Convention
Governor Schwarzenegger praised the Peace Corps at the Republican National Convention: "We're the America that sends out Peace Corps volunteers to teach village children." Schwarzenegger has previously acknowledged his debt to his father-in-law, Peace Corps Founding Director Sargent Shriver, for teaching him "the joy of public service" and Arnold is encouraging volunteerism by creating California Service Corps and tapping his wife, Maria Shriver, to lead it. Teresa Heinz Kerry celebrates the Peace Corps Volunteer as one of the best faces America has ever projected in a speech to the Democratic Convention. The National Review disagreed and said that Heinz's celebration of the PCV was "truly offensive." What's your opinion and can you come up with a Political Funny?
