ANJI ROE WOOD
(Martha/Mary) is delighted to be joining the cast of Peachtree Battle! She's been acting since her breakout role in middle school through her many performances at Elon University, where she earned a degree in Broadcasting, and moonlighted at the theatre. Anji spent over a year as a broadcast journalist in South Metro Atlanta, but she left her job behind and joined the Peace Corps to make more money. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bulgaria, Anji worked with the Rhodope Drama Theatre to increase their marketing and communications strategies throughout Eastern Europe. (She even made it into a few performances - all done in Bulgarian!) More recently, she's performed English speaking roles with the Pumphouse Players in Cartersville, as "Hard Cora" in the comedy, Wild Dust, and at the Cobb Community Playhouse as "Annelle," in Steel Magnolias. Anji studies film and on camera skills with Bob Harter and Della Cole at yourAct, and she's represented by local talent agency, The People Store. By day, Anji is the Public Relations Manager for Special Olympics Georgia. She is grateful to her husband John, her mom, Linda, and the Thompsons and Woods for their unconditional love and support of her passion.

Schwarzenegger praises PC at Convention Schwarzenegger praises PC at Convention
Governor Schwarzenegger praised the Peace Corps at the Republican National Convention: "We're the America that sends out Peace Corps volunteers to teach village children." Schwarzenegger has previously acknowledged his debt to his father-in-law, Peace Corps Founding Director Sargent Shriver, for teaching him "the joy of public service" and Arnold is encouraging volunteerism by creating California Service Corps and tapping his wife, Maria Shriver, to lead it. Peace Corps: One of the Best Faces of America Peace Corps: One of the Best Faces of America
Teresa Heinz Kerry celebrates the Peace Corps Volunteer as one of the best faces America has ever projected in a speech to the Democratic Convention. The National Review disagreed and said that Heinz's celebration of the PCV was "truly offensive." What's your opinion and can you come up with a Political Funny?
