In more SFSU award news, student Cara Statucki was recently named one of 14 winners throughout the California State University system of the William R. Hearst/CSU Trustees' scholarship for outstanding achievement in 2004.
Statucki, 26, sustained a debilitating back injury just a year into her master's program in adult education, but was still able to maintain a 3.9 grade point average and is working toward her second master's degree.
Her resume includes a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and a stint in the Peace Corps educating teachers in Guyana about HIV and AIDS.
