GREENVILLE -- Annemarie R. Lobb, of Greenville, N.Y., passed away Monday, October 25, 2004 at her home after a brief illness. Annemarie was born in Berlin, Germany in 1917, daughter of the late Adolf and Karolina (Walther) Hilpert. She had resided in Greenville for the past 25 years. Annemarie and her husband, retired Colonel Anthony W. Lobb, who predeceased her on October 24, 2000, both served in the Peace Corps in El Salvador prior to moving to Greenville. Annemarie was an avid reader and a frequent patron of the Greenville Library. She was a member of the Friends of the Library. She also had prepared crossword puzzles for the New York Times including the Sunday edition.
She had a tax preparation business in the Greenville area for many years. Annemarie leaves behind three sons, Jens G. Lobb and his wife Marilyn Lobb of Greenville and grandsons, Jens Jr., William and Andrew Lobb, Wayne A. Lobb and his wife Barbara Stevens Lobb of Sudbury, Mass. and William A. Lobb II and his wife Maureen O'Hagan Lobb of Atlanta, Ga. and grandsons, William A. III and Anthony H. Lobb. She also leaves a brother, Hermann Hilpert of Mainz, Germany. She was predeceased by two brothers, Adolf and Karl Hilpert. The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Columbia-Greene Hospice and caregivers Janice Lounsbury, Betty Jean Mueller and Gail Bose for their kindness and care provided to Annemarie during her illness.
Services and interment will be at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville, NY 12083. As to Annemarie's wishes, she will be cremated and buried with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Library or to Colombia-Greene Hospice in memory of Annemarie Lobb.
